I'm Claire Keifer, and this is my personal student art blog. I'll be uploading the projects I do, and also a paragraph or so saying a little bit about each piece.

6 prints
I made this with paper, paint, ink, staples, the print maker, and the block I carved my design into. I put the words "There violent delights have violent ends" on each of the hearts. The idea of this is to display how you shouldn't rush into things, because usually you'll end up getting hurt. It's one of my favorite quotes from Shakespeare. The first three hearts were printed with red ink, and the last three with blue ink. Also, the red hearts are facing up and the blue facing down. The colors were representing emotion. At first, it's all full of lust, but then things can change from that. The most intense color is on the top and bottom. This is to show how the most emotion is felt from the red at first, and coming out of that of love, it finally fades away. Alike that idea, I used staples on it. Most intense top and bottom, and gets less towards the middle. For the overall print, there's a heart on it. Obviously showing your emotional state. The lines around the heart, are supposed to look like your heart beat. Like how it would look on a heart monitor. Over the whole picture, I had water dripping down, which because I did it while wet, caused the colors to all blend together. This was to show how all these emotions and feelings are connected, like because you feel one emotion, another will come out of that one.
